I’m Alina Rose—at least a part of me is—and the night I discovered I was a demon was the night my life went from zero to a hundred real quick.

Everyone at work knew I was different. The gossip and sideways glances were enough to make anyone feel like a freak, giving me little hope of feeling comfortable in my own skin. Not that it was ever my own skin to begin with.

Everything changed one night when a stranger named Nester cornered me at the bar and dropped a bombshell—I was a demon, marked by darkness since birth. Next thing I knew, I was dragged away to Astaroth Academy, a hidden school for demons, perched on a misty mountain that looked like it belonged on an Alpine postcard.

Astaroth Academy was nothing like my old life. Ancient powers, arcane knowledge, and a whole lot of people who understood what it meant to be different. And then there was Aran, the academy’s heartthrob, who was as infuriating as he was handsome. I mean, how was I supposed to focus on my magical studies with him around?

But it’s not all magical lessons and wild parties. The Reavers, a horde of rival demons, are hell-bent on using my powers to break through some ancient gates. No pressure, right? And then there’s Machina, my alter ego with her own chaotic agenda.

I have to figure out my powers, deal with Machina, and somehow survive the Reavers’ relentless pursuit. This academy might be my sanctuary, but it’s also a battlefield, and I have no idea who I can trust.

This new adult paranormal academy book is the first in a planned series, and will appeal to fans of Vampire Academy, and The Mortal Instruments.
